Each video lesson is roughly 10-15 minutes in length yet holds years of teaching experience. Concepts are taught using the best teaching strategies with plenty of work-together examples. Students can pause, rewind, and move at their own pace.*
Homework is assigned after every video lesson and provides instant feedback. They are brief checks of understanding (10 questions or less), graded instantly upon submission, and include video answer keys where the teacher explains each answer step-by-step.

Internet access & a device (laptop, phone, tablet)
Access to a Systeme.io account to access the class materials
Printed Pre-Algebra Curriculum Workbook (sent upon enrollment), and

This class comes with lifetime family access to video lessons (including any future lessons that will be added)! Family access is defined by those legally residing in the same household. While members of the same household can access video lessons and print their own Curriculum Workbooks, please note that 24/7 teacher support is available only for the first 20 weeks of the class upon enrolling.
*The weekly commitment for this class is roughly 1 hour. This includes two ~15-min video lessons and two homework assignments. If you'd like to move at a faster pace, you can choose to pay upfront (and save 20%) to get immediate access to all materials.

Class Goals
Mastering pre-algebra concepts is the first goal of this class. Pre-algebra is a major transition from concrete thinking to abstract thinking. By the end of the class, students will have bridged their understanding of how simple, real-life scenarios relate to abstract equations with numbers and variables (letters).
The other goal is to help students gain experience with facing and overcoming challenges in learning, thus gaining confidence. By design, the video lessons provide opportunities for students to get quick wins to keep them motivated while building out the complexities of a concept. Students walk away with increased confidence, independence, and skills in taking responsibility for their own learning.
Students will make mistakes as they try problems on their own, and that is okay! Mistakes are a part of the learning process. If students are stumped or have questions, there's 24/7 teacher support for the duration of the class. Students (or parents) are encouraged to email any questions they may have, and teacher responses are prompt.

From the Teacher
My role is to give students the gift of hard work and accomplishment through math. This math program sits upstream from a young adult who has proven to themselves that they can do hard things. This is the goal. This is Pre-Algebra With Purpose.
Our job as parents is to train up our children in the way they should go. Part of this training is giving them the opportunity to foster independence, and this class is designed to do just that. It's a good opportunity to loosen the reins and allow your child to practice independent learning.
I keep parents in the loop with periodic updates and am very responsive to emails. I'd be honored to be a part of your child's math journey, and I hope to work with him or her soon!
